NEW AND AMAZING

Meena had been wanting to hit Frankies 457 for quite some time. For those who don't know, it's a little Italian place on Court Street in Carroll Gardens. Lots of great press and a solid designation as a neighborhood staple.

So after an INCREDIBLY long two weeks in the the office, I was more than happy to head back to Brooklyn and just take it totally easy for a night.

That we did.

We started with Frankies’ Antipasto and it was lovely. Meats, cheeses and olives. Some thick bread and beautiful, fruity olive oil ... heaven on a plate, friends.

After that amazing beginning, we went to main courses. Meena had:
- short rib ragu with pappardelle

Alec had:
- pork braciola marinara

I think I ordered the best. Although Meena's was lovely. But my little roll of pork shoulder and cheese with some of the best marinara I've had in some time was worth the visit. Tender pork and light cheese with perfect tomato sauce is one of those dishes that lives in my dreams. If you'd like to taste Alec's dreams, please visit Frankies 457 and you can have a taste for $14. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Meena's was also very nice and she left feeling quite satisfied and full of hand-made pasta thick, lovely ragu.
