I don't even know where to start. We had so much wonderful food with James and Diana at their place in Williamsburg. We had so much wine. We had so much fun. It was one of the most fun Saturday nights we've had in some time.
But because this thing is about food and this was an especially good night for finer nourishment, I just want to jump right into D's wonderful cuisine.
Course 1: Pan fried chicken with a cucumber-sunflower seed salad and sunflower seed/parsley pesto
Course 2: Grilled shrimp over romaine with pancetta and hearts of palm with a creamy pancetta, garlic, apple dressing
Course 3: Mini pork and beef meatballs over angel hair nests with chicken broth, white wine, butter sauce
Everything was, as previously stated, amazing. I'll talk about my highlights briefly. In the opening course, the pesto was out of this world. In the second course, the hearts of palm were simply perfect with D's wonderful dressing. Course 3? It was all a highlight. But those meatballs ... wow.
I forgot my camera so I was left with more crappy cell phone shots. My apologies to the chef. But we did catch some great shots of D hangin' in her super stylish apron. James helped her get it on properly. Thanks James!
Again ... one of the best Saturdays we've had in a long time. From food to friends to music and wine. Outstanding.
